Aims

The TMF, an umbrella organization for networked medical research, creates universal solutions for the optimization of essential working processes. In doing so, independently of the disciplines involved, it draws together research

1. on a cross-disease basis
2. from clinics to general practitioners
3. from basic research to clinical research.

The TMF has established itself as the central contact partner for discussion of the issues involved in networked medical research. It concludes agreements with data protection bodies nationwide, mediates between university-conducted research, the pharmaceutical industry and patient care and negotiates with the legislature.

The aims of joint work in the TMF are:

1. Improvement of medical research in terms of quality, organization and cooperation
2. Solution of questions spanning networked medical research, e.g. on the collection, processing and exchange of research data
3. Clarification of the legal and ethical foundations for performing medical research
4. Issues of quality assurance and quality management
5. Development and extension of efficient IT infrastructures and their implementation in cross-institutional networked structures
6. Realization of cross-location solutions
7. Contributions to sustainable and efficient health research by means of the improved transfer of research findings to patient care
