Network-coordination working group
Network management and sustainability
The CEOs / coordinators of the medical research networks use their working group to discuss general issues of management, sponsorship and the sustainability of major network projects, to intensify the existing links, to develop more efficient processes and to achieve legal certainty on specific issues.
Joint topics here include the exchange on new funding tenders – including at European level – as well as issues on the continuation of the research networks once the original public funding comes to an end.
As the number of members in the TMF increases, which partially can be traced back to the foundation of new research networks by public sponsors, the degree of experience in network management is also varying to an increasing extent. While the CEOs of some networks have, over the years that the networks have been in existence, passed through various phases of network development, now the coordinators of the newly founded network projects are often faced with similar issues.
Accordingly, the Network-coordination working group will increasingly focus on organizing the transfer of relevant experience within the TMF in order to help improve the quality and efficiency of networked medical research.
