The Medical Informatics Initiative is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year with a two-day symposium. It will take place on 24 and 25 March 2026 at the dbb forum berlin. The symposium’s motto is “Shaping the Future of Health: Using Data. Promoting Connectivity. Driving Innovation. Ten Years of the Medical Informatics Initiative – A Foundation for Research, Healthcare, and Digital Sovereignty in Europe.” We are particularly pleased that Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space, will open the symposium.

Conference

At the MII Symposium, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), the current results of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) will be presented to the (specialised) public.

Initiative

Scientists in the fields of medicine, information technology and other disciplines at German university clinics collaborate on the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII), a project funded throughout Germany. Its objective is to digitally connect patient data generated during hospital treatment nationwide. Research can thus be conducted on such data in order to better and faster treat diseases in the future.
