The TMF is a coordinating body for strategically relevant collaborative research projects at national and international levels. It is also involved in many small and large research projects as a specialized partner with a high level of expertise, particularly in legal, data protection, and ethical issues. In addition, it is involved in the development of concepts and project ideas for ministries and scientific institutions - regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Support Structure of the Medical Informatics Initiative

Ongoing Project

Since 2016, TMF has headed the coordination office of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMFTR), which it operates jointly with the Medical Faculty Association (MFT) and the Association of University Hospitals in Germany (VUD). This is where the staff of the supporting structure work and where the committee meetings take place. This enables close integration with the activities of TMF as the umbrella organization for IT infrastructures and research data management in medicine.

TEHDAS2 - Second Joint Action Towards the European Health Data Space

Laufendes Projekt

TEHDAS2 ist eine Joint Action des EU4Health-Programms im Rahmen einer direkten Zuwendung an die Mitgliedsstaaten für vorbereitende Aktivitäten zur Sekundärnutzung von Daten im Europäischen Gesundheitsdatenraum (EHDS). Es sollen Leitlinien und technischen Spezifikationen für Datenhalter, Datennutzer und Gesundheitsdaten-Zugangsstellen erstellt werden, um so die Voraussetzungen für die Durchführung gemeinsamer Maßnahmen zur Sekundärdatennutzung im EHDS zu schaffen.

Innovationspapier zur Förderung des Gesundheitsforschungs- und Wirtschaftsstandorts

Die TMF, der Verband forschender Pharma-Unternehmen (vfa) und der Bundesverband Medizintechnologie (BVMed) fordern in einem gemeinsamen Positionspapier konkrete Maßnahmen, um Deutschland als führenden Standort für Gesundheitsforschung und Innovation zu stärken. Im Zentrum stehen bessere Strukturen für Translation und Transfer – etwa durch Translationszentren an Universitätskliniken, digitale Datenplattformen und neue Partnerschaftsmodelle.

ToolPool Gesundheitsforschung

Die TMF hat mit dem ToolPool Gesundheitsforschung ein Portal konzipiert, das die Entwicklung sowie den Betrieb und Ausbau von leistungsfähigen IT-Infrastrukturen für die medizinische Forschung unterstützt. Hier finden IT-Verantwortliche, aber auch Forscher, Projektmanager und Mitarbeiter von Förderorganisationen Angebote wie Software-Tools, eServices, Gutachten, Checklisten sowie Beratungsangebote und Schulungen. Funktionien wie eine starke Facetten- bzw. Volltextsuche und eine Feature-Matrix, mit der Produkte einer Produktgruppe verglichen werden können, erleichtern das Auffinden geeigneter Lösungen.

Checklisten & Arbeitsmaterialien

Beschreibung der IT-Anforderungen für Kohorten und Register

Umfassender und an die jeweiligen Gegebenheiten anpassbarer Anforderungskatalog für IT-Lösungen bei Kohorten und Registern. Im Anforderungskatalog, der als Excel-Datei bereitgestellt wird, werden Top-Level-Aufgaben und Use Cases (Anwendungsfälle) mit ihren Bezeichnungen tabellarisch aufgeführt. Die Spezifikation, die sowohl als PDF-Datei sowie auch als bearbeitbare Word-Datei vorliegt, beschreibt jeden Anwendungsfall in einem strukturierten Format. Anforderungskatalog und Spezifikation in Version 1.0 enthalten 44 Top-Level-Aufgaben und 203 Use Cases. Der Anforderungskatalog und die zugehörige Spezifikation der Use Cases kann sowohl die Planungsphase einer Kohortenstudie oder eines Registers als auch Revisionsprozesse unterstützen.
