TMF Publication Series

Project Results From the TMF and Reference Works on Health IT

The TMF publishes important concepts, guidelines, and legal opinions in its publication series, which has been published by the Medizinisch Wissenschaftliche Verlagsgesellschaft (MWV) for many years. The generic solutions for data protection were published in 2006 as the first volume for the research community in form of a book.

The publications can be ordered by e-mail from the TMF office, from bookshops, or from the publisher. You can also download the Open Access versions here.

Volume 11: Guidelines on Data Protection in Medical Research Projects

Download [in German]: Open Access Version

The TMF has published generic data protection concepts for medical research consortia, consulted with the federal and state data protection officers and made them available to the research community. Based on this, numerous research projects were able to develop and coordinate their data protection concepts more quickly - also with advice through the TMF's Data Protection Workgroup. The insights gained in the process have been compiled in this book.

Volume 10: Declaration of Consent and Research Information for the Collection of Animal Samples

Download [in German]: Open Access Version

In order to better understand, combat, and monitor infectious pathogens that can be transmitted from animals to humans and cause so-called zoonoses, samples are taken from animals for scientific studies. In this context, legal and data protection issues arise that are addressed in this legal expertise. It was created on the initiative of the National Research Platform for Zoonoses.
