The establishment and operation of large biomaterial banks is becoming increasingly important: material banks that make samples available for medical-scientific analyses in the long term offer great potential for clarifying pressing questions in medical research. This is especially true if the samples are brought together with data on the course of the respective patient's disease.
The increasing networking in biomedical research is also leading to the establishment of overarching data and sample collections. This raises a number of legal and organizational questions for which there needs to be clearer regulation in Germany to date. The TMF has addressed these questions and clarified many aspects in an interdisciplinary project, which are now provided to researchers in the form of guidance for actions and sample texts. This second volume of the TMF publication series examines the legal framework for the establishment and operation of biomaterial banks from a legal perspective.
- Extensive legal report
- Compilation of the legal provisions
- The TMF can provide sample contracts
