"Biobanks" and "IT Infrastructure for Networked Medical Research" are the focal topics of the second annual congress of the TMF, which will take place on April 15th and 16th, 2010, in Munich. This year's congress will address two highly relevant areas for the research community, for which the TMF provides comprehensive concepts and solutions. The future collaboration of medical research consortia with the currently emerging National Centers for Health Research will also be a subject of professional exchange.

The congress will cover topics such as technological requirements for biobanks, the IT infrastructure required for their smooth operation, or the legal foundations for EU-wide cooperation of biobanks. IT concepts for the establishment and operation of registries, IT-based support for patient recruitment, as well as the creation of S3 guidelines will be presented. A tutorial will introduce the use of data standards in medical research.

Centers, Networks, Collaborations: In a final session, the exchange between existing medical research consortia and the emerging National Centers for Health Research will be initiated or intensified to support future collaboration among different structures.

With its public annual congresses, the TMF aims to strengthen the exchange of medical researchers among themselves and further promote the use of its solutions by medical network research. The 2nd TMF Annual Congress 2010 in Munich is aimed at:
